LGK FOOD BANK

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
 HANDSWORTH ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS

Our Mission: Food as a Vehicle for Support

Established in 2014, we harness the love of food to support individuals facing chronic conditions. From our roots as a pop-up Greek taverna, we now empower young people and celebrate heritage to ignite lasting community change through equitable food access.

Strategic School Partnerships

Our referrals are strategically managed through the Handsworth Association of Schools partnership. By focusing on Birmingham’s north-west corridor, we specifically reach families in high-deprivation areas. This school-linked approach ensures our impact is both targeted and compassionate, providing essential support to the community’s most vulnerable members.

The Weekly Provision Model

Our core model delivers at least four days of essential groceries to every family, ensuring stability throughout the school term. By maintaining regular weekly intervals, we provide a consistent safety net that families can depend on for their nutritional needs.
