Call for Mural Artists

Celebrating the Women of Walsall Through Public Art

LGK in the Community, in partnership with Walsall Council, are seeking artists to create a series of large-scale murals that will celebrate the lives, stories and achievements of women from Walsall.

Following our major oral history project Queen’s of the City – Walsall, sixteen local women have shared their experiences through filmed interviews.

So, now we are looking for artists to help transform these stories into bold, inspiring public artworks that will become permanent landmarks across Walsall town centre.

Each mural will have an embedded augmented reality (AR) feature that will bring the walls to life with video and interactive features.

The illustrations of the women will need to be based on the screenshots taken from the video assets, in order for the AR to be realistic.

The Artist's Commision (fee)

This fee is paid directly to the artist. All additional costs associated with delivery of the mural are covered separately by the program and highlighted in more detail in the mural art trail pack available on request.
